Plenty of business owners struggle with receipts that go missing or fade exactly when they are needed for the books. BONIQ offers a sustainable alternative: an app that stores receipts digitally and automatically, and keeps them clearly available. JAM-IT developed the app from the very start and translated the vision into a scalable solution that combines convenience with cutting back on paper receipts.
BONIQ was founded on the vision of making the storing and claiming of receipts simple, secure and digital. For business owners and freelancers that means no more worrying about lost receipts, always having access to a digital archive, and a user-friendly way to keep the books in order. Using a QR code at the till, the user receives the receipt digitally in the app straight away, including amount, date, time and location.
Alongside this practical benefit, BONIQ has a broader mission: cutting back on unnecessary paper use in retail and hospitality.
The road to a working platform has its share of bumps. Every retailer and hospitality business works with its own till system. To process digital receipts, API connections are needed, and not every system is modern enough to support that directly. That is why, alongside API integration, BONIQ also had to make room for manual entry in the app, so users can still manage their receipts digitally.
Quinten was looking for a development partner who could not only handle the technical build, but could also think along about the strategy and scalability of the solution.
JAM-IT brought BONIQ's vision to life by translating the idea into a working demo platform. Key parts of the solution are:

For many business owners and freelancers it is a familiar problem: piles of receipts that get lost, fade or become unusable, precisely at the moment they are needed for expense claims or a tax return.
For founder Quinten Schalkwijk this was the signal that a more sustainable and more efficient alternative was needed. That is how BONIQ came about: an app that stores receipts digitally and automatically, and keeps them easy to find.
JAM-IT was invited to think along from day one and developed the BONIQ app from idea to working application. In doing so we translated BONIQ's vision into a scalable solution that not only makes life easier for users, but also helps companies cut back on paper receipts. After an initial online search for developers, BONIQ came into contact with JAM-IT. In the conversations with our team it became clear there was a good fit, with shared ambitions around innovation and sustainability.
Using an Agile approach we developed a proof of concept and a demo that is now being used to explore the market. In parallel we are preparing the first pilots with retailers and hospitality businesses. The app is expected to go live at the end of 2025.
What Quinten values in the collaboration: JAM-IT thinks along not only technically, but strategically as well. That way BONIQ is being prepared from the outset for scalability and expansion into a broad ecosystem.
