Meet the team: JAM-IT's Mendix Business Engineer Parminder

In this blog series we introduce our people to you. Today we introduce Parminder, our curious and creative IT Trainee at JAM-IT.

The informal atmosphere between colleagues is really nice and enjoyable. I felt comfortable straight away. On top of that, the help I get is genuinely motivating, it encourages me to do my best every day.

From video editing to Mendix Business Engineer

Parminder is 26 years old. He studied HBO-ICT at De Haagse Hogeschool, where his passion for technology and creativity came together. Alongside his studies he worked at Mediamarkt as a TV sales assistant and spent time on video editing and graphic design, a creative outlet he still enjoys practising.

During the covid period I picked up video editing and I am incredibly glad I made that choice, Parminder says. It was the first creative hobby where I decided entirely for myself what the end result should look like. The learning process was hugely enjoyable and challenging. At JAM-IT I get the same feeling. Of course there is a limit to how much I get to decide myself, but the learning process feels just as valuable.

A flying start at JAM-IT

After graduating, Parminder started actively looking for a job. When he came across a vacancy for JAM-IT's IT Traineeship on Indeed, his interest was sparked immediately. I really liked that they offered a traineeship, because what you learn at school does not always map one to one onto what you need in practice.

He is now gaining that practical experience within the traineeship, where he is being prepared at a rapid pace for the role of Mendix Business Engineer. His technical background, commercial experience and creative mind make a fine combination.

Free time and future plans

In his free time Parminder is busy with gaming, fitness and, of course, video editing. He also likes going to concerts and organises gaming tournaments with friends. When he finds the time, he even looks into developing his own games.

His goal for the near future is clear: first complete the traineeship successfully, and then run a project of his own as a fully fledged Business Engineer. With his eagerness to learn and his creative approach, Parminder is ready to make a valuable contribution to JAM-IT's success.
