A look behind the scenes at our IT traineeship

At JAM-IT we believe young talent is the future. That is why we set up a dedicated IT traineeship in which starters get the chance to dive into the world of IT in a short space of time. Have you successfully completed the traineeship with us? Congratulations! You can then call yourself a Business Engineer. But what does this traineeship actually involve? Rather than simply telling you, we would like to take you behind the scenes.

From starter to IT expert in four steps

Our IT traineeship is built around four clear steps. Do not worry, we will not throw you in at the deep end; we take you through it step by step. You finish each phase with a certificate, so you know exactly where you stand.

You start with the basics of IT. No technical background? No problem! We start calmly and give you a multi-day course to find your way around Mendix. Once you have that down, you dive into the world of SCRUM: how do you work efficiently in a team? In phase two you learn that in a classroom course.

Got the basics under your belt? Then in the third phase we go into depth. You learn all the Mendix tools and how to apply them in practice. Before you know it, you are building your first application!

And no, it is not serious all the time. Around lunchtime you can happily unwind with a game of table tennis. The atmosphere at JAM-IT is informal and there is a lot of laughter.

What do our trainees say?

Roel first came across Mendix during his studies, in a module about low-code platforms. That turned out to be a perfect fit. His interest in low-code was sparked, and from that moment on he knew he wanted a career in that direction. When he saw our vacancy for the IT traineeship, he did not have to think long. After graduating, he applied to JAM-IT straight away.
