UPD is a training and consultancy firm that guides organisations through the transformation to a culture of continuous improvement, so they become agile and future-proof. In doing so they focus on the four elements that together lead to a successful transformation: organisation, strategy, processes and people.
TeamGrow was designed in 2017 with the aim of increasing happiness at work and encouraging and guiding teams in their development. In their view, teams are often focused on achieving results, and too little attention goes to optimising work processes and improving their own ways of working. As a result there is often no built-in mechanism to reflect with the team on how they collaborate and to improve that continuously.
To meet these specific challenges and realise the idea of the TeamGrow tool, UPD decided to call on JAM-IT's expertise to develop it.
The TeamGrow tool offers a user-friendly self assessment for teams.
Through 35 carefully designed questions covering seven different pillars of team development, it gives teams the chance to set their goals, improve their performance and cultivate a strong team climate. Once TeamGrow has been fully completed, the results are made available online for everyone.
After the tool has been completed for the first time, UPD works intensively with the team to understand the essence of its dynamics. The results are then compared with the desired situation, and on that basis a constructive conversation takes place, led by an experienced team coach.
By placing the different measurement moments one after another, every team gets a trend line per pillar. That gives teams insight into whether the right actions have been taken, or whether something else needs to be devised to encourage the team's growth.
The future looks promising, with UPD as a growing company that wants to use the tool in more and more projects and integrate it into their training. The collaboration between JAM-IT and UPD remains dynamic and flexible, with room for further development and a stronger relationship.

Together we developed a powerful tool, TeamGrow: the online tool for teams to learn and grow faster. In this article we take a closer look at the impact of our collaboration and how together we built a valuable instrument for teams to make the most of their potential.
Building the TeamGrow tool was a challenging and engaging process. JAM-IT and UPD together determined the essential features and technologies needed to create a user-friendly, flexible app that lets teams be self-sufficient in their development. At JAM-IT we were keen to take on the technical challenges and create a unique experience for users.
One of the main challenges we faced in creating the TeamGrow tool was writing code that made efficient, secure logins possible for users. We put time and effort into implementing the right security measures to make sure the tool is reliable for our users.
Another challenging process was the way we set up the questions. Armando: An interesting aspect is how we structured the questionnaires on the back end of the application. Users do not notice any of it at first, but it makes it possible for us and UPD to respond to new requirements and to get data out of the application easily for analysis.
Throughout the changes TeamGrow has been through so far, JAM-IT has continued to work closely with UPD and to move with them. Thanks to this close collaboration and the interactive development process, the TeamGrow tool is now fully in line with UPD's style and vision. The result is a tool that matches the specific wishes and requirements exactly, and that enables teams to work on their growth and development independently and effectively. This dynamic approach has meant the TeamGrow growth scan keeps evolving and adapting to the changing needs of teams and the organisation. It shows JAM-IT's commitment to providing clients with solutions that are relevant and effective, and it underlines the importance of a flexible, interactive approach when building software tools.
Even though the collaboration is remote, it feels good and well grounded, it is simply enjoyable and they think along, which has strengthened the relationship.
