An innovative web application that lets companies plan large-scale car transport efficiently and calculate the costs.
Development was prompted by the growing need among companies in the automotive sector for an advanced solution to organise large-scale car transport efficiently. Planning and carrying out such transports is a complex task involving a range of factors.
JAM-IT recognised these challenges and decided, together with the client, to build an application that enables companies to plan transport orders precisely and calculate the costs in detail.
What made the build process of Transporting Highway special was the hybrid approach JAM-IT chose. On the back end of the application JAM-IT uses the Mendix platform, while the front end was developed the traditional way with JavaScript and React to implement widgets and the interactive elements on the pages. By using Mendix on the back end, JAM-IT could easily capture and maintain the formula and logic of the calculation tool, making the most of the power of Mendix.
The cross-pollination between Mendix and React was an important aspect of this project. Since Mendix also uses React, the two could work together seamlessly in building widgets. With the right combination of Mendix on the back end and traditional JavaScript and React on the front end, JAM-IT was able to create a powerful, user-friendly application tailored specifically to the client's needs.
